@ArtGuildPH Banner Making Contest Entry: 3d Style Banner

Hello Steemit Friends!

Magandang araw! 😄 (Good day!)

This is my entry to the ArtGuildPH Banner Making Contest by @artguildph. Though it is not required, I decided to stick with the wood theme and just make it simple. My idea is to make it look like it is extruding from a wooden wall. I'm gonna show you how I made it. I used Sketch Up to make this. Sketch Up is an easy-to-use 3d modelling software. I also used it on my thesis where I needed to make 3d model replicas of the buildings in my university for a 3d game.

So first, I created a 3d text "ART GUILD PH". I used the font Gogono Cocoa Mochi

I made a smaller one for "BY STEEMIT PHILIPPINES"

It was a good thing that the logo is a circle. It might have taken me some time to trace it and make it 3d. I'm lucky that I just needed to make a thin cylinder.

Time for adding color to the model! So for the side of the text, I decided to have a dark brown color. For the front, I used light brown textures.

For the logo, I also used dark brown texture on the side and just added the logo on the front.

So for the background, I just a added a rectangle to act like a wall. I thought that something like a wood mosaic would look good.

With all the textures added, I just needed to adjust the view to my liking. I tried using an isometric view but It didn't look good for me. I adjusted the view so that I would look like you are looking from below. I also used that view so that I can show that it is 3-dimensional.
