Hello guys!!!
Since I don´t have work yet and it's my free time, I decided to join the @artguildph contest of designing a banner for them. I am also an artist and I am really interested in designing and creating arts in a different way. So here is my design that I ended- up with as you can see my final image above. I will try to explain how I made it.
The software I used mostly for my designing is flash, as you see, I started looking for a better background at first. I saw a painting materials which is related to arts that is why I picked this one for my background.

If you take a look, The background is a bit colorful which is good,However we are making a banner and It should involve some other text and messages. So what I did, I changed the contrast and made it a bit darker and I lessen the definition so the focus will not be there and should be on the " quote" or text.
I inserted the artguildph logo at the top center so It is very easy to recognize.
After that, I put the text below the logo. Brown is the color because they want a wood theme somehow.
Lastly, I tried looking for a better props to add up and put a little bit of spice. So I think brush will be better.
The color of course are the blue and red which symbolize our Filipino flag.

We like this, can you make this bigger? And into a rectangle? Preferably 1x2 ratio then width is 1000px or more. Thanks!
HI!! good eve sir/mam, I tried changing the size into a bigger one. Width is now 1600 x 1000 which can be use as a wallpaper. There's a bit of changes on the details because it was stretched a bit. but still okay I think.
