Picture Another

A picture of another, spread across a page,

A thought of a lover, broken apart by rage.

Wandering and lost, pressing always on,

Where is the smile, it once was there, now gone.

Coming and going, no time to stand still,

No time left for waiting, the time soon will kill.

Driven to the end in the search for what’s gone,

Finding no other, no love, just cold crimson, the dawn.

Her bright eyes still beam, as each day she will rise,

But her smiles may falter, those hours lived as lies.

All given to others, warm steel over ice,

Out there someone will know, when she’s done paying her price.

This is about a monster who seeks after love, but being a monster, finds only the embrace of loneliness.
