ARTQUEST-TRAIL#13: Dreams and Aspirations!

in #artchallenge7 years ago (edited)

I think that there are people who, despite being born into their own unique culture, try to dilute or transform their lives to mimic what they believe is...the better life. Although this specific depiction may not happen in current times, or ever, the painting surely condenses the expanse of a nations socio-economic anatomy.
One interpretation could be that a church was built within a community void of Christianity and the protocols of international trade. The rice thrown to signify fertility would have been used quite differently by others. Could it be that there is some form of segregation between these indigenous people? Or are both lifestyles treated as equals in all aspects? Foreigners are not necessarily the ones doing the most damage to the pre-industrial habitat, it is the citizens that sometimes develop digressive attitudes toward their fellow man.
