Starting a new drawing... I think Ill post my progress

Ive been having trouble getting motivated to draw lately. But yesterday I sat down and forced my self to just start scribbling... usually I find this the best way to get inspirational juices pumping. I usually have no idea what Im creating when I start (If I'm simply drawing for the pleasure of it... ) I just start laying down lines and eventually something begins to grow out of the paper. I seem to get the most pleasure out of drawing weird, bizarre and usually off-color characters.

So I began sketching eyes... I usually start with eyes for some reason... I find they give the best direction for where the rest of the sketch will go. From the eyes I worked on the rest of the face and before long "Mr Bone" was born... well he is still in his infancy, there's lots more to do. for this piece I have decided to challenge myself and create a circular border framing his head... I want it to be intricate... but metallic and rusty... As I said it will be a challenge as I haven't created many stylized patterns like this before. I will need to find good source material to reference (recommendations are welcome!)... also... maybe a raven? Who knows this is always a mini adventure and some of the best fun I can have. Eventually I will ink him... most likely no color... but we will see.

I will update Steem as I go, hopefully more progress will be uploaded soon... If I dont get too swamped with real work.
