Today we are going to make a small tutorial to create a poster. For this we will need the Photoshop tool and some image of your preference. In this case I will use this image to create a poster related to STEEM.

First of all, open photoshop.
Create a new document with 24 x 36 inches or your preferal size.
Place your image selected for the design.
Use the "quick selection tool" for select the face on the image.
Open the "refine edges" and check the selection, if all is ok, just click "OK".
Go to image > adjust > and desaturate the image, you can do "SHIFT + CTRL + U".
Go to Layer > Adjust layers > and create a levels layer.
Adjust them with your own preference.
From now on, all that remains is to experiment. You can combine styles, designs and colors to create new styles. You can use different types of fonts and even images and create a crazier poster. Now, select the "rectangular tool" in the tools panel and draw a rectangle up to half of the canvas.
Create a new layer with the active selection, do "CTRL + SHIFT + N".
Set your "front color" to black and press "ALT + DEL". Now you have a half black layer.
Go to the "text tool" and select the "horizontal text tool".
Select a font (you can change later if you want).
Make text align right in the upside panel.
Set the size to almost 100 points.
Change the text color to white or a light color.
Start writing your text.
Adjust the spacing and change the font if you consider it.
Press "CTRL + T", your text will be selected.
Take the corners and adjust the layer to take up as much space as possible.
Go to the layers tool and do "CTRL + LEFT CLICK" in the text you create. You will select all the text.
Hide the text layer making click in the eye to the left of your layer.
Now, you need to select the half black layer that you create some minutes ago.
Press "DEL". Now you have erase the select areas from the layer and you see part of the down layers.
Press "CTRL + D" to deselect.
Select the first down image layer and delete it.
Now, click on the gray picture and click on the right mask of the layer.
Select the "eraser tool".
Use a soft brush and make the hardness equal 0%
Erase some of the black areas to show more parts of the mask image.
Deselect the mask and click on the complete layer (left thumbnail).
Select the "overexpose tool".
Configure it with 0% hardness and almost a size of 450 pixels.
Make sure you have active "Shadows" in the range option. Now, click on the more darkness areas of the text.
Activate "Midtones" in the range option and repeat the process.
You have a visible text now!
Create a new white layer "CTRL + SHIFT + N".
Fill to 0% (Although the filler is at 0% this layer continues to apply effects on the lower capable.)
Double click in the layer for open "Layer Effects/Style".
Go to "Inner Glow" and start configure it.
I have change the Blend mode to "Normal", Opacity 40%, white color, and change the choke to 100% and the size to 35.
Now, go to stroke and apply a black stroke with size 30, stroke inside, and blend mode "screen".
Finally click on "OK".
For finish, you just need to add some effects if you want, let's try a brightness and contrast.
Also you can change colors! Just add a Solid Color layer.
Change it to Blend mode "Color".
Take down the opacity i have use 20%.
