Original larger scale painting from 2007 named A Happy Couple And The Wedding Party - Acrylic on canvas (reposted with better color correction) - from my painting series Longing and Belonging, a growing series of paintings featuring my precious little family and close friends in very intimate and vulnerable settings.
This painting shows a very colorful happy and joyful scene from a family wedding in South Jakarta, Indonesia.
I still own these quite personal and (for me) very important paintings, since I want to be close to them and could never sell them.The painting is on display at our Family Restaurant and Gallery in Cilandak, South Jakarta.

Hi @pusteblume ... Asian and African weddings are wonderful - yes, and very colorful indeed... with usually many many people attending. Peter's German auntie Susanne is married to the Kenyan politician Gideon Mung'aro of Malindi, Kilifi Province. At their wedding were about 10.000 people, unbelievable....
