Water Splash Animation study (Process Included)

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Here is a water splash study I did following a tutorial on flashfx's blog. I am trying to learn some fx animation so I can apply it to my environments. This animation was made using photoshop and a plugin called AnimDessin2. It makes animating in photoshop much easier.

And here is a break down with a little clean up and color and shading added.

Super time consuming. Every time I think about animating a little short I remember the process of storyboards to roughs to finals to in-betweens and then the coloring and polishing and making smart background decisions... So much! Maybe one day, lol.

This water has a nice feel to it, well done :)

The animation looks great, designing all those frames hand by hand takes so much time x), how long have you been working on it? Have you tried to export to PNG and edit it in After Effects as an image-sequence? Perhaps you'd get an animation that looks even more smooth!
