Watercolor Painting - Flowers of Pandora. Abstract watercolor shapes and pen doodles.
My cameraman thought that these pen 'shapes' looked like some flowers in Avatar, the movie. Hence the name.
This is a Speed Art Painting of some abstract shapes (flowers?) in watercolor paint and outlined with pen. The main idea behind this painting is to illustrate how easy it is to paint some colorful, striking abstract shapes (or flowers) with watercolor paints. The secret, in this painting, lies in the bold, black outlines of the watercolor splashes , which turns a watercolor splash on the paper into a lovely, abstract stylized shape. In this case the outlines were done with a Sharpie black pen but you can also use Gel Ballpoint Pens to draw the outlines with.
This painting is done wet on dry, to create sharp edges on the 'streaky' parts of the painting, with a few wet additions to get a soft, hazy look.
There is no need to invest in expensive materials to get a good result. Our materials are all bought in a regular supermarket here in the North of Thailand. We do not have all the necessary brushes or a wide variety of paint colors, but still, with the basic brushes and paints will you be able to create a cheerful, bright painting.

You can use this art as a card, as an artwork in a frame or even laminate copies of these artworks as placemats. Or even just do this art as a form of meditation to 'go' into a place of solitude. There are no rules. Use this clip only as an inspiration. Should you find certain places in the clip too fast, slow down the playback speed of the clip and mute the music.
