Rosella Parrot Australia - How to draw a parrot

Easy Art titled Rosella Parrot Australia - How to draw a parrot. This is a fast, relatively easy drawing, even though it might seem difficult. Once you have the outlines of the bird, its just a case of 'filling in' the detail. The only intricate detail would be the feathering on the parrot's back.

This drawing is done with only a Fineliner, a soft graphite pencil, coloured pencils and some coloured Sharpie pens and permanent markers. The blue background is done with soft pastel.

There is no need to invest in expensive materials to get a good result. Our materials are all bought in a regular supermarket here in Thailand. The paper we use is good quality sketching or watercolor paper. Some watercolor paper adds a great texture, should you want a texturised drawing.

I am a great birdlover, and even though this drawing is not depicting an actual bird species, it is an 'artistic' hybrid of some of the Rosella Parakeet species. This drawing actually resembles a Green Rosella from Australia.

You can use this art as a card, as an artwork in a frame or even laminate copies of these artworks as placemats. Or even just do this art as a form of meditation to 'go' into a place of solitude. There are no rules.
