Friends In High Places
As above, so below.
I finally got around to painting this week. I didn't start as early as I would have liked to, but I still showed up.
I started things off with another border. Ever since I started adding these, it's just not the same when they are not around.
I find that these borders are great for getting your composition down before the initial painting begins.
Once I am happy with the overall shape of the frame, I can get down to business.
I had never been able to paint waves very effectively. Then one day it just happened. I didn't think of it as waves, just sheets of a decaying wall overlapping and receding into a horizon.
The ocean was looking empty.

The way you layer things really stands out. I feel reality also has many layers to it and that's something I try to express in my writing and music, also something I feel from your paintings.
