Henna Design ~ Step By Step
Hello Friends! I’d love to share with you another Step By Step guide for drawing a simple Henna design!
All designs that I share with you are my own designs and I have henna’d them freehand and freestyle. I only use Natural Henna paste that I mix myself using Organic Henna powder. I will definitely be sharing how I mix my paste and the benefits of using Natural Henna in another post. This is very important and I look forward to sharing more about Natural Henna with you! :)
Firstly I start with a little swirl and surround it with fine humps.
Next I add my petals. I nearly always use 5 petals on my henna style flowers. This just comes naturally to me and I like the look of it!
I always use a fill in my flower petals to add depth! I usually do 3 or 4 fine lines to create this depth but sometimes I do fancy fills.
Next I added a leaf! I drew the outline then the centre!!

I filled in the veins of the leaf and then added some swirls and flourishes to fill out the design!
I pretty much mirrored this on the opposite side so that I had an even pattern and it looked balanced.
Then I finished off the design with some dots to add some extra ‘pop’ and completion :)
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I piece together a simple Henna design! Please ask away if you have any questions about Henna or would like to see a particular design!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Peace out!!

Tattoo design is such a fascinating art form! I love how it allows for personal expression and storytelling through ink. The creativity involved in designing a tattoo is incredible—whether it’s intricate patterns, meaningful symbols, or vibrant colors, each piece tells a unique story.
I’m particularly drawn to designs that incorporate elements of nature, like floral motifs or animal imagery, as they often carry deep symbolism. The way artists blend different styles, such as traditional, watercolor, or geometric, can create stunning visual effects that really stand out.
It’s also interesting to see how tattoo trends evolve over time, with new techniques and styles emerging. I believe that a well-thought-out tattoo design can be a beautiful representation of one’s identity and experiences. I really like this one!
Thankyou! :)
Is this a frangipani? I love frangipanis.
I think it’s based on a frangipani but it’s more of a styled flower. Frangipanis are super hard because you need to link each petal to the next...I avoid them 😆
Oh yeah, they sort of fold past each other. Do you branch out into different colours, or is it always the traditional brown stain?
Always traditional brown stain! That’s the natural colour of the dye in the Henna plant. If there are other colours it’s chemicals and hair dyes added in....nasty!! Sometimes you see colours on Henna that is actually body-grade glitter puffed onto the paste to look pretty. That is fine! And also some people use body paint, that sits on the skin for a few days. But beware of ‘black henna’ or ‘colored henna’ because it won’t be natural and safe.
So beautiful!
Thankyou! :-)
I just love your designs! These flowers that you do are gorgeous!!
