Unboxing Matplotlib

in #art6 years ago

Hi folks, welcome back to this edition of blog on Unboxing Matplotlib library in python. In this blog we will try to learning the hands-on knowledge of using and implementation of this beautiful pieces of python library for Data Visualization.

What is Data Visualization?

Data Visualization

Data Visualization is very important in the field of data science. When we are dealing with so much data, it becomes a necessity to visualize that data so that we can interpret and analyse the data effectively. Visualizing data in the form of graphs, tables makes us interpret more information in an easier and better way.

After briefing you all in short on data visualization let me give you introduction on Matplotlib library.

Matplotlib is a plotting library for the Python programming language and its numerical mathematics extension NumPy. It provides an object-oriented API for embedding plots into applications using general-purpose GUI toolkits like Tkinter, wxPython, Qt, or GTK+. There is also a procedural “pylab” interface based on a state machine (like OpenGL), designed to closely resemble that of MATLAB, though its use is discouraged. SciPy makes use of matplotlib.

Now let us explore more deep by implementing and using this library.

I have summarized the blog in following steps mentioned below that will have an overview with hands-on glimpse, the steps are:

1. Importing the required libraries.

2. Obtaining the data.

3. Plotting the line chart.

4. Plotting the vertical bar graph.

5. Plotting the horizontal bar graph.

6. Plotting the histogram.

7. Plotting the Multi-line Line Chart.

8. Plotting the Scatter Graph.

Hands-on practice:

Above we have learned little on working of this beautiful Python library, if you are more keen to dive in deep then you can spend time reading the latest Matplotlib Release 2.2.2 .

Matplotlib Cheat Sheet for those on rush to learn can see the image below:

I hope the stuff mentioned in this edition would have given you all a little understanding about the topic.

Do show your love by banging the claps button below, because learning has no limits.

Thank you for Reading ….!
