Painting Diary: Grip Tape Art

Last week I collected a few used skateboards and tried to draw on on the grip. 

The idea was to get black and white drawings so the boards would look good (can go) on the wall. 

I used sample images to draw my own. Here they are:

• Predator poster: Predators (2010)

This is what I used:

acrlic paint, grip tape, brushes

Once I decided on my concept, I started the actual sketch on the grip tape. I used a white pastel to make the main lines and then i started using brushes and acrlic paint. Because of the grip tape color (dark gray / black) I had to put many layers of white color just to get the tone I wanted.
