Combining separated places together to connect a symmetry or a slightly different perspective, is stimulating our typical viewing pattern as well as exposing people to different environments. The work with punching the circular mask out of the DIA positives is strongly influenced by a spontaneus selection and arrangement of the picture-pairs.
The DIAs are found on fleemarkets and in second-hand shops – thereby they are virtually anonymous.

It is the classic but very simplified collage process, which creates a hypnotic statement
– always confronting the viewer with old memories of mostly unknown people.
With the great vintage Kodak Carousel projector 80 DIAs can be presented in an automatic infinite loop.
