Sarmatian Warrior

сармат.jpg

This figure is a real work of art by the ancient master. Presumably, such figures belonged to representatives of the Sarmatians. Sarmatians were a very strong tribal alliance at the beginning of our era, it was they who forced out the Scythians in the steppes of the Caucasus. Sarmatians were not only excellent warriors, but also good artisans, they were able to perfectly produce items made of bronze and iron. But it was the bronze products of the Sarmatians who glorified them as craftsmen, such products always differ in their beauty and elegance, although they were not as numerous as Scythians, but bronze objects are often found in Sarmatian burials. Presumably, these amulets were worn by soldiers and it was something like a reward for those who distinguished themselves.
