Self-portrait digital sketch & hyperlapse!
Hello Steemit!
Here's a collection of progress photos and a hyperlapse video of a sketch I did of a self-portrait.
Sometimes it's hard for me to believe that I'm able to achieve a traditional medium look from something digital. It was difficult to get used to at first. I struggled with the idea of not being able to smell the supplies, feel the texture of the paper, or hear each stroke from my pencil.
@kommienezuspadt, somehow convinced me to test his stylus from Adonit. It caused me a lot of anxiety and frustration at first, but I did notice that it motivated me to continue with my art. I then purchased an Adonit Jot that I loved but struggled to master. It wasn't until the Apple Pencil was released that I became 100% committed to the idea of producing digital art.
Sure, I was skeptical at first. I had spent some time trying to get used to my Adonit (which left me miserable some days because I wasn't able to get the lines to connect the way that I wanted.) and now I was being lead to purchase a new stylus.
What left me in a delightful shock was how wonderful this product actually was. Thin strokes could be made and fluid lines would perfectly connect. I was able to transfer images from my mind, to my hand, and onto what I thought was actual paper.
