'Vampire Den'

The blood-red drapes invoke a feeling of being in a vampire movie. Together with the yellow light on the wall, they create warm, but quite a scary atmosphere. I love the mood and can feel it, even though it takes me to the negative, fearful side. I feel like I'm being trapped inside with a hope of a way out. The window seems to be a safe haven, a rescue to where I can run. And, then, when I do this, when I set my mind on the window, it becomes clear that we have no idea what's outside apart from the cold light. Nothing is visible, so I have no idea where would I end up or run into. The dilemma and drama are obvious.

What I find especially interesting is the red colour, of course. But it is not only that. The mood is created by a mixture of natural and artificial lighting and this is what does it for me. Colour balance is set to the outside natural light what makes the tungsten light really warm. This way it powerfully supports the red colour. A touch of greenish and cyan coming from outside perfectly fit the colour scheme and tell us their part of the story. The almost white window sill, appearing as stairs leading outside, only makes the illusion grander.

The creases creating shadows on the drapes are adding a huge bonus to their volume and the overall mood. Vignetted dark edges make the contrast between darkness and light, what adds dynamics. I find that to be a strong statement.

I'd really like to know how does the red colour work for you?

Enjoy! :)

Nice :)

It is very interesting. Even, in my opinion, it's sexy.

That's a bad ass pic bro, it gives me the chills. Not knowing what's outside the window surely makes it even more anxious.

Great image, i like the red tone as it gives it a mistery feeling.
