Block Sketch: 02 - Spunky!!!

Here's another Nickelodeon themed illustration, based off one of my favorite characters, Rocko!

This one started as a rough digital sketch, which I then drew with the pen tool. I don't do a lot of vector-based artwork, as I find it to be much more time consuming. Happy with how this one turned out though.

I'm super excited for the new tv movie Nick is putting out later this year, but I'm also a little worried that the creator is relying too much on gimmicky "WHOA we're in the future!!! IPHONE'S! DUBSTEP! ENERGY DRINKS!!!" as the trailer is eluding to...

It looks great! They kept the same hand-drawn aesthetic, which is what I was worried about them changing. Hopefully the spirit of the show remains intact after 25 years...we'll see!

    Great illustration... looks better than the original! The trailer is wacky but I've never seen the show so I have no comparison. One thing I do hate though is when movie studios take old TV shows and make them into feature films and if that's not bad enough they usually flip the genre from drama to comedy and the rating from G to R .

    Yeah it's not good when a show is rebooted and completely loses context of what made it great in the first place. :/ I have high hope tho.
