Painting outside this weekend

I want to make a book, add new work to my exhibition studio at the Hive Gallery, and meet some deadlines for group shows I wish to enter, so I am preparing what I consider my best work.

Today I am taking advantage of the lovely weather to fix up some oil paintings. The above image is too dark and colorless, I have decided.

I have learned some tricks over the past year; so I added white to my red paint to make a creamier sky, and completely redid the neutral toned underpaiting for the grass. I will add a glaze of greens, blues and yellows later, and make a new post when finished.

The painting below I created for a Steemit contest. I am mostly just cleaning it up and adding details.

Might have to bring everything I tonight; I might see some clouds.
