Come see me at the Artwalk on Thursday
Showing at the Hive on Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles.
I was going to get social media announcements out earlier, but things did not go as I planned. The opening last night went well enough. No buyers but a lot of "Maybe's" and a few people asked for a card from me; which I could not produce because I did not have the time to get the cards due to having to completely redo my show.
This pastel was going to be the centerpiece; alas the frame broke and I had to rethink everything.
Here is a more recent version. I have renamed it "Lifefactory" because of the raison d'être I feel has quietly been imposed on myself and all women by both society and nature :
I swear I have broken to many frames trying to make my work look nice; and pastels are the hardest because I hate using fixative. It is almost impossible to keep the mat clean.
Here is another piece in the show; I posted it earlier.
And here is how my wall looks after I attempted to quickly make a somewhat cohesive show with some inexpensive images for the holidays.
And finally, here is my piece for the main "Robots and Unicorns" group show at the Hive.
Thanks to my brother @zenithwombat for helping me hang my work; it would have taken hours otherwise and I would have likely broken more frames and maybe some bones. I swear, I can manage the art; but everything else about being an artist is going to end me.
nice
Thank you kindly.
