ENCOUNTER ON THE S-BAHN

The train was late. They said is was due to the weather - slush and snow in these past few days. The gloomy sky colored everything grey on the platform, the few people patiently waiting appeared like silent wraiths. A candy bar was stuck in the vending machine and a little boy was furiously punching all the buttons when all of a sudden the gears started turning again - on several items: jackpot!
I turned to look down from the elevated platform onto the empty street below. Normally the arrival of the train would be announced, but this time, it just snuck into the station quietly, and only the faint hiss of the doors opening alerted me to its presence. The car was nearly empty. Some of the passengers barricaded themselves with their shopping bags, some would stare vacantly at a point just a foot in front of their nose, others yet pretending to be busy with their cellphones.
A young lady across the aisle was watching something on her i-pad, absentmindedly playing with a ring, twisting it in her fingers, when it suddenly slipped from her grip. With a sparkling trail it rolled across towards me and landet with a soft tinkle under my seat. I retrieved it and handed it to her. As our fingertips touched for a brief moment, the grayness disappeared - I caught a whisp of honey-blonde hair, porcelain-blue eyes and a little smile, a silent thank you on her lips. She turned back to her i-pad, brushing the screen lightly with her fingertips and disappeared. They late afternoon had turned into darkness.

Good advice - I had made a file on Steemit where I collect important info, like the one you just gave me.
I am still trying to get my head wrapped around all this.
Before, I had already posted to one network, and then just shared the posts on others, so why not Steemit being the originating network for my posts from which I share everywhere else. i.e. if I share my Steemit posts on Facebook, that is in turn set up to automatically share on Twitter.
I like the way you can compose your posts here. There are a few things that I have yet to test out. It is a learning curve. Yes, full Steem ahead!
Make sure you use tags for your posts, and check which ones are "popular" so that your articles are found. Network!!! But you do that pretty well anyway. ;-)
After getting involved here, "likes" on other social networks just mean nothing.
"likes" by themselves never meant much anyway, unless people bothered to check the source (i.e. my blogs and websites) and possibly my merchandise.

Hehe.. I have some 500 windows open with all the things I want to read! Brower's soon gonna crash... seems a bit slow already.
Of course here should be the staring point, but I already read an article that fb limits visibility of posts linked to steemit. Wonder why.... 😇
FB limit the viewership of many external sites. The best way to get the word out, is through your own mailing list.

Could also share on Flickr - and my FB posts auto-post to Flickr.
Facebook want their users (bacon) to stay on the platform. Therefore external links are punished.
so I take the Zuckerberg spanking, if they so decide to 'punish' my 3rd party posts - who cares. I checked up on this and found a ton of different and contradictory postings about that subject. Is Steemit on the 'black list'? That would be an unusually quick reaction by Facebook.
Any external link is "punished". Whether some more than others, I don't know. From the media articles about FB censoring certain political orientations, on that count, I'd say, yes. Competitor sites, I'd say likely.

I only seen this comment now - yes, it was worth it. I don't care much about earnings, what I like is the ease with which I can post here, and sharing it everywhere also, so this may well be the primary from which I share. Like, my Facebook is auto-set to share my content on Flickr, so if I share Steemit on Facebook, it goes to Flickr as well. The bonus is that heading images from Steemit posts also show on Flickr, not just a link-line and some text. (Whereas "regular" Facebook posts shared do not show images on Flickr).
Glad you like it here. What you say holds true for me as well. The content everywhere is unbelievable!!! But I do appreciate the fact, that you get something for being active here... makes a fb like look really poor.
My voting power is down again, but I'll be back, when its worth it ;-)
