Interesting proposition! Though, at the moment, I probably wont be able to accept STEEM as a form of payment as I can't really buy food or pay for rent with it, ahah. I have invested some of my money into cryptocurrencies, but right now I consider them more in the sense of stocks or funds, you know, things I really can't do anything with but which have some monetary value attached which will maybe rise. Also getting paid 100 bucks on Monday and have said 100 bucks be worth 50 bucks on Friday when rent is due kinda sucks too, haha!

For smaller scale projects, like speedpaints and sketches I could probably accept STEEM, as even if the value of STEEM falls I wouldn't be in financial trouble.

I am actually totally serious in my interest in some commissions but all the disposable "cash" I have is in the form of cryptocurrencies. You will also find LOTS of people on this platform with similar situation - basically flush with cash, but all in crypto. Look into the bitpay card - it costs $10 US equivalent in bitcoin and I would be perfectly happy to give you enough STEEM to turn into bitcoin to pay for the card, if it meant I could commission and pay in cryptos. Once you have a Bitpay card I could just pay in bitcoin by sending the bitcoin to your card's wallet address - when you load the Bitpay card with bitcoin, it loads it with the current market value of the coin. In other words, if the market drops, you wouldn't lose your payment (but also if the market gains, you don't get that gain - whatever the market value was at the time you load the bitcoin onto the card, is the amount of money you have to spend on your card). The Bitpay card is a Visa debit card that functions in every respect like a Visa debit card.

Huh, interesting! I haven't heard of that before, I'll have to look into that and see if it is something I could use. Thanks for the info!

No prob, I personally use the Bitpay card and it has worked great for me. You also might want to look into the TenX app, it does not work in the US so I do not have personal experience there but I am guessing from your user name here and on deviant that there is a strong chance you are not American :) If it works in your country TenX has a "digital card" option that basically turns your smartphone into a debit card that you can use similarly to the Bitpay card, but costs even less to set up. Please do let me know if and when you can accept cryptos as payment :)

I sent you a tip in SBD :) I believe the amount I sent would be enough to convert to BTC, pay the small fee to do that, and then still have enough to pay for a Bitpay card and the fee to send the BTC to Bitpay to get started. You are of course under no obligation to use the SBD I just sent in this manner and should think of it as a welcome gift :) I honestly hope to be able to commission you in the future with crypto and would pay for at least one larger detailed commission and a few smaller ones, and possibly more :) You rock!

Oh hey thanks a dozen! I appreciate it! I'll have to investigate if and how I could arrange this in the most sensible way possible when I got some spare time to spend!

Sure, of course since I sent that tip the price has crashed to about half what it was when I sent that, and I doubt that is enough anymore to get a card going, but hey, it is the thought that counts right? LOL

I hope you do eventually get some time to look into it, and definitely let me know (a reply to any of my comments or posts is perfect). As we go forward I imagine that it will become more and more common for people to have disposable income in cryptos. Shoot, the number of new millionaires and billionaires who have gained their fortune through cryptos in the past few months alone is staggering. I know quite a few personally from my time on this platform. I am sure many are in a similar position to me where they would rather keep their "money" in crypto form to avoid paying capital gains tax ;)
