Drawing - THE FLASH from DC Universe (step by step)

Hi All!!!

Two day illustration of Flash completed, liked this one so much, took some breaks, needed them to get the inspiration and pull it off :) Drew it all digitally in Photoshop with a help of a drawing pad.

The Flash coming out of the Speed Force:

This one was a BLAST to draw! Body movement of Barry in the running position was a challenge and the posture is quite difficult with these, perspective wise and all.

Here we have Barry Allen all grown up and in the prime busting out the Speed Force full of energy gathered inside. I imagined him differently in the beginning with regular eyes but later filled it with the speed, made more sense for the effectiveness. Used the symbol to gather up the energy, but the idea is that the center of the chest is the main target here, messed with it a bit until I found the solution.

The process of picking up the speed:

Started from the bottom, now look at this simple line idea and sketch, nothing special

Darkening the lines, fat belly flash in progress, gotta fix and add a lot and remove in the process

Dark, more ink, is it Inktober or no, right?

Adding the mass, fixing stuff, lines, dots, movement, gotta make it everything but not steady :D

Base color and background, this one looks sooooo old school at the moment!

Speed Force is in, this step was just about making everything in the back look nice, and about it adding sense to the picture

And the final step. Shadows, lights, lighting effects, fixing lines, adding details, the eye-dea about the energy came to mind, adding those lightning effects, finishing it up, now he can Run!
