Trump's Repeal of the Internet Neutrality Bill: What the future holds

With the FCC voting 3-2 in favor of repealing the Internet Neutrality bill, this lifts Government regulations on how consumers connect to the internet; thereby giving broadband broadband companies the power to control our online experience. Most of us will not feel the change right away but when it gets into effect, many will start seeing the impact it will have on local startups and personal user experience on the internet.
The agency scrapped the so-called net neutrality regulations that prohibited broadband providers from blocking websites or charging for higher-quality service or certain content. The federal government will also no longer regulate high-speed internet delivery as if it were a utility, like phone service. Their concept is that unregulated business will eventually yield innovation and help the economy.
Many public interest groups and the Internet Association (which represents companies like Facebook and Google) are planning on taking legal action to stop this repeal. We have also seen Attorney Generals around the country planning to file law suits in this regard, but what does this really mean for us consumers?
According to critics of this act, consumers will have more difficulty accessing content online and that start-ups will have to pay to reach consumers. This will also put consumers at risk of also paying to access some services and contents on the internet, that used to be free in the past. This will also provide a very hostile environment for startups with limited capital and promote major companies to keep growing. There will be monopoly in certain fields and thereby taking us consumers hostage.
We should all join our voices to protest against this repeal and try to stop it since we may loose some of the privileges we currently enjoy online without knowing. Trump is all about making money for himself and his friends, never putting public interest into consideration and this disease America is currently facing should be stop.
