If you are the ones who love art and Thai culture, this is the right place for you.

Artist’s House is an art gallery which is very interesting and valuable for you to see all types of art and Thai culture in the meantime. It’s situated at Klong Bang Luang, in Bangkok.

It’s an ancient wooden house facing the canal, Khlong Bang Luang, (Khlong means canal) and it’s next to an ancient pagoda.

The art gallery is on the second floor where you will see many interesting arts.

At the first floor is a space where artists create their own works. You can join some of their activities; i.e. mask painting, printing press, etc.

The furniture in this house are antique as you can see below....

Can you imagine how old they are?

The highlight of this place is a puppet show which is very elegant and hard to see elsewhere nowadays.

The puppets are characters from the famous Indian – Thai literature, “Ramayana”. They are dressed in beautiful ancient Thai dresses.

Below photo, you will see two puppets, one is called “Sida” who is the heroine of this story and another one is called “Hanuman” who is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanuman)

It’s great that this puppet show can keep the tradition alive.

Apart from the puppet show, I think, you may enjoy taking photos with the sculptures of ancient Thai people that are sitting or standing by the canals….

There are also small restaurants where you can have some drinks or foods with relaxing moment from the view of the canal.

From there, you will also see the way of life of Thai people who live along the canal; slow and peaceful life. They mostly use long-tailed boats for their transportation.

Of course, there are plenty of fish that, I think, you will enjoy feeding them, for sure.

What an interesting place. I love antiques and I agree that history must be kept alive. This is a perfect place for those fun sculptures too. I suppose there are no floods from the canal? Sure hope not. Great photos as usual. : )

Many thanks for your nice comment. I'm happy that you found the place interesting and you love antiques, too. There maybe floods from the canal, but I'm not sure! ;)
