How -Art- becomes Art (A critical Discourse)
How Art becomes Art.
A critical discourse
Here on Steemit, many articles are related to art, like photography.
In this article, I would like to focus on some aspects of art in general and what it is or could be.
What makes Art - to what it is considered or referred to?
This is something, you may ask yourself from time to time when looking at things, someone calls art.
That can be buildings, clothes or even food. There are no boundaries.
What is art?
Is it making music, a sculpture or drawing a painting?
Why is one object more art than another?
How to determine the value of art?
How can the value of art be determined? Can it be measured by the time it has taken to create it, by energy by scarcity of the used materials or by the precision, it is made of or by age? Is it the uniqueness?
That depends on the person, who is viewing it or is interested in buying this piece of art. The value is individual for a person.
Democratic or Minority Definition of Art
Some say, you have to have a degree in art, to be able to determine that something is art.
Or is it art, when most think it is (democratic solution)?
Or is it art, when those who produce it, say it is (minority solution) ?
An Example of Art
There is this strange story of an artist called Joseph Beuys. He made something called ‘fat-edge’ (butter greased to a wall). See it here, with you own eyes.
Conclusion
In the end, everyone has to decide on his own, what art is.
If a master of some art tells you "this is art", it may not be art for you, if you find it repulsive or ugly. On the other hand, the master may not agree on what you perceive as art. There is no easy solution. Every human has his own definition of art.
This leads to the dual-conclusion that - at the same time - everything can be art and not. It depends on the beholder.
Do not let yourself getting influenced in your understanding of Art by others.

I'm continuing posting articles that matter. Thank you for reading and don't forget to Follow me.
Reaaly amazing
Thank you!
Good article and interesting thoughts! Art is really subjective...I agree everyone should make up their own mind about constitutes art and how much value it has to them.
Yes. That's the essence. Everybody should be encouraged to think on his own.
My art is the art of taking pictures, building gardens and talking about Pocket Change...lol... But there's so much more to me than just those few items...
