The Ancient one

People say that there is a being that is under the surface. Waiting for the civilization to reach the highest point of its development. Exploiting every possible resource that the environments offer. Everything that is created and built will be annihilated, returning the balance to the system they inhabit. There is no evidence, that says this haymaker exist, yet there is no evidence against it. The researchers say they found a traces of civilizations that were wiped out of the faces of several planets in our solar system. The exploration robotic space craft found pieces of whole cities destroyed with weapons so advanced, that we could not even create a relevant theory of how they would work. Some scientists think there must be a being that is responsible for this and is possible that this thing is on our planet waiting for us to become a bit more greedy than we are. To reach our apogee. To search for resources on other planets. This will be the moment that this being will arrive before us. and send into the oblivion. The scientists named him The Ancient one. Chorestena was never safe. Those civilizations so advanced, yet none of them could not even be close to succeeding this "reaper of life".
There are two possible ends of our story- We will end us, or the ancient one will. Aren't we the ancient one? Aren't we killing our selves as a civilisation at this moment?
