My watercolor of Meteora, Greece.
This fanciating place is unknown in ancient Greece. It is only popular in the mid centuries, from 1000 CE onwards. It was the monks who got the eye to settle there and made huge effort to build their monasteries. So all these monasteries are quite a few hundreds of year old.
