The making of "Owl"

Chiang Mai, which is the largest city in the north of Thailand, is a surprisingly artistic place. During my travels there i met an artist named Jee, who owns a guesthouse in the old city. Jee is a painter schooled in classical Thai painting, when she's not running the guesthouse she paints and decorates buddhist temples.

After seeing her work i asked her if she wanted to paint together so she offered to paint one of the walls in her guesthouse. To give each room a unique characteristic we decided to assign an animal to each room. Over a period of three days we painted, laughed and enjoyed the most delicious Thai food together while creating a piece entitled "Owl" or "นกฮูก"
