MOMA Weekend Visit
Every time I go to MOMA, I always wonder what the heck this insect-looking chopper is doing here. Which chopper did you say? This one below:
Bell-47D1
The Story of the Helicopter
Finally, I learned that this is one of three thousand Bell-47D1 helicopters. They were all made in the US and sold to various countries between 1946 and 73. The different thing about the helicopter is that the designer, Young, was also a poet and a painter.
He designed it in a way that it looks like seats are in a transparent plastic bubble and he made a nice touch with the open structure of its tail boom. It is hanging right by the stairs which start most of our journeys to MOMA. There is another boring entrance, though.
Taking pictures? Yes, please!
I love wandering around the best of modern art pieces while not forgetting to ask my friend to take pictures of myself. I believe I will keep doing this every time I go to MOMA because I think I look x100 better with these beauties around me.
Loved it
Okay time to show you some fame!
I know some readers are already in like enough of you man, where are the paintings mode. Here you go. The first one comes from Picasso:
The Three Musicians
As it can be seen from the picture, Picasso cut-and-pasted paper to build this magnificent piece of art. If you know Picasso's Three Women at the Spring, you can actually see the contrast and differences clearly. This one is dated back to 1921, the same year he painted Three Women at the Spring which is also exhibited at MOMA.
Let's move on to the next one. I believe many more people will know what this one is by looking at it for a second:
Van Gogh- The Starry Night
The Dutch Impressionist created this in 1899 after admitting himself to the lunatic asylum. The view depicted in the painting is assumed to be from his room. For art nerds, scientist think that the brightest star, just to the right of the cypress tree, is Venus! If you like this one, you have to check the Starry Night Over the Rhone as well!!!
The end of the trip, for now, tune in for the future trips.
Love you all!
MoMA is my favorite museum. Thank you for story of the helicopter!
