Huh, so everything was already. Only tools are changing, isn't it? :) I do not even think that I can search for inspirations from 'oldschool/classic' artist. Thanks for it ;-)
Our eyes are of similar design, therefore certain concepts can be accurately compared scientifically...Such is vision. Yes, these computers are the most advanced creative tools we ever had. Light contrast is more brilliant than even the most expensive oil pints, therefore, the power of the force is strongest in modern humans due to the multiplier afforded by our computer slaves, I mean tools. If you are a creator with a computer, than you have more power to express yourself than those without the aid of these electronic slaves, sorry, tools.. It's hard to search for inspiration, but when you consider that Vincent basically invented the first "cartoon image" simplified caricature of both portrait and architecture (both man-made and natural), it might pay to pay homage or just to make that mental connection that you might think otherwise Walt Disney was the creator of the cartoon:
