Berlin StreetArt - Reviewed by a baby
I took my baby daughter to the East Side Gallery so she could cast a critical eye over the murals and graffiti.
She is not easily impressed, but I think the imaginative and colourful images appealed to her!
The streetart here is some of the best I have seen, and since the Wall came down it also a well-preserved piece of history.
Very soon after the wall was torn down a multinational brigade of artists descended on the city, and in 1990 it was officially designated an open air gallery.
There are over 100 paintings. A lot comment on the massive political upheaval the newly united country was experiencing.
Because the Wall is exposed to the elements, careful protection and restoration measures have to employed.
The gallery is a monument to the peaceful resolution of political and national boundaries. Tear walls down, don't put them up.
Oh man I am moving to Berlin next year and I can't wait, it seems like an amazing city.
Ahhh these are so cool... They have changed the paintings on the wall since the last time I made a visit think I need to go back again and see them!! I love the Berlin Wall :)

It looks like there have been some new additions to the East Side Gallery since my last visit. I think the cat/Venetian mask is my favourite.

STOPBerlin is my favourite place in the world! Been there 6 times when I used to live in Scotland. Now in New Zealand and I miss my chaotic times in this wonderful city! The art is just amazing there!
