My mother and I; scenes from the past - handmade clay sculpture by @sofi-m
Hello everyone!
Today I am celebrating 5 days without cigarette (I miss it like crazy) so I am trying to keep myself occupied with my art not to think about it!
As you may have noticed, my art is very much influenced by motherhood and in this specific sculpture from my home country Naxos. This is one of the many scenes of local life in my mother’s village Skado some decades ago.
This could be my mother and me… I hold it close to my heart!
This sculpture is handmade from different colors of clay. I hope you like it!

Perhaps it is because I have recently lost my own mother, I'm not sure, but this is my favorite of your pieces so far. Thank you for sharing it with us.

The sober colours and emotional tones are in synch and delineate, on one level, a lot of depth between you two... The pride and the earthy feelings radiating from there are also a long telling story. Thank you for sharing and namaste :)
