Call for action for artists, and advices on how to store value on the blockchain, for your original artwork.

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Have you ever wondered how to add a complementary story to your artwork?

What if you could Link your viewers with a small qr or even a URL right at the side of your canvases? This way your viewer could check out whatever info you would like to acompany your artwork with, forever stored at steemit's Blockchain. With just a simple addition somewhere out of the view of the actual painting.

What are the limitations really? Imagine next time you have an exhibition your viewer could start a conversation with you about the artwork explaining the process or just displaying a time lapse of it on the making?
Wouldn't that be priceless?

What if all those aspects could be transformed into a collective effort to present this for the first time ever in an exibition for Lisbon Portugal and steemfest 2? Can you guys Create, Record, and Transfer your artwork to Lisbon at November?

A room with original paintings and a small QR right next to them with your url personal blog. I think a lot of people will find that a very interesting idea.

You can blog your work in progress and until november we can even come up with a Theme short of trying to focus towards a specific result.

I am not sure, this is just me thinking out loud. I know you guys skip reading most of the time and you just up-vote for the shake of it. But there is only 3 months left till Lisbon and if there is going to be happening an artistic event we better deliver something better than the last time with the goal to present something greater each and every year.

Drop ideas on the comments and lets start raising some funds to help out at organizing this somehow. I would love to donate for something that will guaranty the authenticity and originality of the artworks that will be chosen. I would not want to see prints, we can do for that a parallel photography exhibition, why not!
Best regards @skapaneas

Re-steem if you please.

Right after this post this painting will be auctioned to raise funds with the term that it will be delivered at SteemFest2

The starting bid will be 100 steem so start getting some, now that is cheap.

Follow the link and paste the picture of the painting at the comments. You will get an upvote for the first pictures of the painting so be quick...

Nice post and wonderful idea. Steemit has to do something in terms art-works.

sounds like a vibe! follow ur dreams bro :D

A good vibe is all we will need to get things going!

Should Steem have cloud storage for art and other projects and collaborations and things for Lisbon and other things? And also Steem Video too. Being able to store more would be better.

Crazy! I was talking last week with my sister (she is art curator) about to make something with QRCode... not exactly what you are saying but about the same topic :) I think it is not used at all and it have a lot of possibilities.
The expo would be just about paintings or can be anything else in a canvas? I would like to take some printed pics with me!!! Love the idea of the expo in the SteemFest 2.
Cheers @skapaneas!

I have no picture of the steemfest2 events yet. I am just starting to get the discussion going and give some ideas to @roelandp team if possible. I know we can get something done if we act soon. I am sure it will be amazing if we do so sooner though.

True QR can add an extra value for artists in general if combined in a productive way. This might be it.

Excellent ideas! ;D

Lets go and make a crypto gallery at Lisbon. Bring the knowhow's :D

Should we invite eric to write the Blockchain Art manifesto.

Create it, Blog it, Sell it.
from everywhere to anywhere.

I'm not fully sure I understand the concept here of a blockchain art manifesto- you might need to give me some more details.

If you put the work and information on the blockchain then that is where it will stay (is also a useful tool for verification of authenticity of artwork- but that is a different conversation). The idea of the QR code is to provide a link to the artists website or back to their Steemit blog, yes?
But we can generate these automatically for each artist with their blog URL unless they request a specific post page. Also some crypto-artists place the QR code within the artwork, I have a couple of pieces in progress with this.
We need to know venue specifics for how/if we can hang work or prop it up against walls. Plus what materials/fixings can be attached to the walls

I'll put out a post about the projected virtual exhibition of work when we have had confirmation of this going ahead- then I'll request work for that.

Keep me informed. :D

I am eager to see what it can be done. Is there any Portugal artist here on steemit we can talk to? Maybe to go get some info on the matter. It would be easy for someone with the know how and where around the city.

It can be done with easy to print some qr's on the spot I guess that is the easy part of the story, But I would like to see at steemfest paintings with some process pictures for the authenticity of things mostly. This always was and is one of my concerns with internet content.

I hope for some feedback from our fellow steemians about the matter.

When you do the 'call for work' post people can put the link to the work in the comments section- print the codes using that link.
