Before even selfies were a thing we used to have some ancient piece of hardware like Commodore 64 and Amstrand. It seems that 8bit artwork is something that awakes child memories to most of us and thous gives it a nostalgic sense.

You know it's true. You have cought yourself spending more time than you wished for on the cover of the Monkey Island adventure game, Haven't you? Maybe that is why those kind of pictures tend to trend so much.
