Hydropela, the Aquarius Girl - Original Art

Hello my fellow steemians! This is Hydropela, a character I created to represent the Aquarius Zodiac sign.

The idea behind this drawing is to create a series of twelve digital artworks portraying the characteristics of the Zodiac sun-signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces).

I've chosen to begin with my zodiac sign Aquarius (11th zodiac sun-sign),  an air sign symbolized with a figure pouring water out of a bearer, expressing an aspect of the Aquarius personality, a seeker of truth, information, and knowledge, once accumulated, the Aquarius human desire is to pour out the sageness learned to the world.

The name Hydropela is the fusion I made up from the old greek two words, Hydrokhoos and Kopéla, meaning Aquarius and Girl. For the drawing composition, each element represent the Aquarius main symbols, stating with the figure pouring water and the Water Bearer, the Water Glyph which is Aquarius prime symbol, the Aquarians main color Blue in the clouths, the neckless holding the alchemical symbol Air, interpreting the elemental symbol of this zodiac sign and finally, Amethyst Aquarians stone symbol, a violet quartz depicting the Aquarians nature, their intuitive instinct, clarity, higher vision and their loving, loyal heart.

Here's some pencil sketches I started with, in order to reach a polished idea that I can then draw and paint digitally, this is the most important step, it helps you build, compose and implement all the ideas you have in your mind in one balanced artwork. So always make sure to take your time and sketch your ideas, then select what you like to include in your drawing.

The painting style I used this time is the grayscale to color painting, a style I recently learned from watching some of Stanley Artgerm Lau art course videos about this type of digital painting, learning and understanding this style was easy, since I'm used to create graphite grey values in portraits drawing.
