Really strange! I wonder, why the scientists seem to have no powerful lobby, since they knew it first. Seems like the most powerful people all rely/are sitting on fossil energy sources and have no interest in decentralizing energy supply through solar panels on every roof. They rather continue controlling fabrication, transportation and communication sectors, than saving the planet.

The powerful nod vigorously when Thunberg castigates them, not in agreement with what she says must be done, but in the hopes that nodding might be considered an acceptable substitute. This is an iteration of the guilt suffused throughout liberal politics, which often seems better suited to producing tears and slogans than genuine change.
