How to Weave a Book Mark

It is my first time to weave a book mark, I am still new to this craft, I am still learning, and i really find it relaxing and therapeutic. It's my new way of quiet times (meditations).

My first weaved was a coaster. It went okay the first time. But today, I would like to share how i weaved my first Bookmark.

Materials

Yarn
Scissor
Needle (plastic)
Cardboard
Ruler

How to:

• measure and draw a line from the edge of the cardboard by 1/2 inch on both opposite sides. It serves as a cutting guide.

• measure and cut few lines, 1/4 inch on each side and in the opposite lines.

• wedge the yarn on the first line, leaving 3 inches.

• then wedge down to the opposite of the first line.

• and wedge again to the next slit, way up in the opposite side again.

• In a needle with yarn, go over and under the lines.

• then going back to under and over the lines back and forth.

• Push the yarn with a ruler or fork towards the line.

• to change the color of the yarn, leave few inches of the last yarn, then proceed to the next color of yarn.

• sew back all the hanging yarns.

• remove the yarn from the cardboard loom. Cut the hanging yarn in the middle, and tie them both together.

Nice and easy. Ideal to try with kids. You can also use a circle loom using a paper plate.
