Famous Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek left this world
What a bad information in the morning of june 16th. Famous Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek is dead. He was 91 year old. The author of the memorial to the victims of communism (Prague, Ujezd) was not allowed to exhibit after 1969. Like many freelancer, he worked on restoration.
Famous by sculptures in life-size. They resembled lean, elongated verticals, their gestures and their movements were directed upward. "I like to make sculptures in motion - they are staggered, inhaled, as if they are in a strain, or they fly. And few of my statues have their feet on the ground, "he said.
