Plein Air Painting - Evening Light, Glenorchy, New Zealand
This is another plein air painting I did over the weekend in Glenorchy, New Zealand. I had to paint this quickly as the light was changing quickly. The sun came out before it disappeared behind the mountain and lit up the willow trees. As it’s winter here and the willows have no leaves their pinkish orange twigs lit up in the direct sun like fire, it was pretty cool 😎.
I painted this in oils on a 8” x 12” canvas panel. I tidied the painting up in the studio when I got back.

Wonderfully done, even if you had to paint it quickly. The speed gives a different charm to the painting :).
I love the muted colours of this artwork's palette.
