Plein Air Painting - Dalefield, New Zealand
We are having the UK equivalent of April showers here in southern New Zealand...October showers? However this is good because its producing some epic lighting effects on the mountains and the fresh spring greens are so vibrant at this time of year.
I spent the evening painting outdoors (plein air painting) in Dalefield just outside of Queenstown. I wanted to capture the contrast of the bright greens and and the shadow of the Remarkables Mountains.

The large section of shadows at the foreground makes me feel like you were painting this under a large body of clouds :) Nicely painted, Samuel, as usual !
