The great Russian artist Karl Pavlovich Bryullov was born on December 23 1799 in St. Petersburg. His father, Pavel Ivanovich  Bryullov  was an academician of ornamental sculpture. Therefore, it is not surprising that all the children, and there were seven of them, had artistic abilities. Five sons: Karl, Fyodor, Alexander, Paul and Ivan became artists. However, the greatest fame fell to the lot of Charles. Carl was a very sickly child, seven years, he practically did not get out of bed and suffered from scrofula. The boy's outstanding ability to paint appeared early. Since childhood, Pavel Ivanovich was engaged with him, he was so strict that he could leave his sick son without Breakfast for the outstanding homework on drawing.

Creativity  Bryullov  - one of the pinnacles of Russian painting of the 30-40-ies of the 19th century. In the art of classicism, he made vitality and spontaneity. The realism of his works was predominantly romantic.
