Faux Calligraphy in One Two Three (A Tutorial)

Faux Calligraphy
Hi steemians! It's been months ever since I last posted a calligraphy tutorial and I am so excited to share to you today one of the easiest forms of calligraphy. The title itself suggests that Faux Calligraphy is very easy to do and that it does not require a lot of materials to use. What I like about Faux Calligraphy is that it is very convenient and basically anyone can do it. So I hope after reading this tutorial, you will try it for yourself. Now, let's start!
What do we need?
First, any smooth paper to write on. I suggest Canson, Rhodia Pad, Muji Notebooks and other smooth paper 100 gsm and above. Second, a pen. Any hard tip pen will do, you may use any brand and for this tutorial I will be using Uni Fine Line Black Pen 0.3.
Step 1: Write

After choosing the word you want to write, start writing in cursive as you usually would. You may or may not draft with a pencil first. For beginners, it is advisable to first write with a pencil then ink it afterwards.
Step 2: Thicken

Remember during our first tutorial? I mentioned that the key to calligraphy is "Thin up, Thick down" which means that in Faux Calligraphy, we need to thicken up all of the down strokes. Just leave the upstroke as it is.
Step 3: Fill

This step requires you to fill the thickened spaces. Now, be careful when filling because the ink is prone to smudging. Also, you may do your finishing touches if you want to.
Final Thoughts
That was so easy and so much fun to do right? I hope you can now make your very own faux calligraphy works. I was supposed to write a lengthy tutorial but hey, if you're lazy like me, I just want to read tutorials that are direct to the point. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you learned something! For my next calligraphy post, hopefully this month, I will be unboxing and will be giving a review about a product everybody's talking about. I am so excited about it and I hope to see you on my next post. That's all for now & Happy Steeming!
