I have I think a visceral fascination with translucence, as well as crystalline transparency, ever since I was a kid hunting for quartz in Arizona. Glad you enjoy the budgie islands in the distance; they really seemed to offer up a lot of character when I was painting them--had a bit of life of their own. This work was collected by a patron in Australia, essentially the land of the parrots, which was very satisfying.
