Integrating Graphical components with Paintings or Photographs enhance the outcome of your Work

in #art8 years ago

Today I'd like to show you a few examples of bringing together different techniques which complement your peace of work in a fresh manner. At the end of the presentation you can compare the work with my Originals which all have their own distinct picture frames.

Image I.

This is a sketch done with a blue pen of a one year old boy on plain paper. I always photographed the original painting with the picture frame loaded the digital image onto my computer and cut just the image out with the PAINT Program. Letting me be inspired from contrast and bright colors I begin creating my new graphical frame.

Name: Laughing. Size: 47X56 cm. Techniques: Blue Pen on Paper

Here I have a Aquarell which shows a fantasy scene and depicts our Environmental Problems. On the left hand side of the painting I drew the top half of an hour glass which reminds us how fast time is running out when the sand flows through. The glass is partially filled with red water which signals poison and in this case also the blood of nature. Floating in this see of blood is what I would call “A message in a Bottle”. A small pristine village were LIFE seems to be conserved in a stereo typical way. Our way of life seems to have cracks in it, shown below. We try to postpone the end result with technical problem solving. Inducing power from outside and capturing lost resources and recycling them. This artificial life is beautiful and should go on forever. Bottom left is the dripping tap were eventually the life blood is completely drained and looking around you, you will realize that all the plants and animals are gone. The top of the hour glass is topped off with a simple lid of wood and bolts symbolizing the primitive economic system we have built.

Name: Suppress Reality. Size: 62X42 cm. Aquarell on paper. The inner black frame separates sharply our situation. Orange is the positive and hopeful and the outer frame represents the gloomy murky future.

These are two person out of the German Entertainment Business. On the left a beautiful woman known as the “Superweib”, today one might say in English the “Super Bitch” in a positive way. To the right the “Geheimnisträger” or the “Secretive Personality Holder”. Maybe someone of the German Speaking Community now the two are. The green elliptical field implies you to pay attention. The large grey area stands for solidity. The fine black line frames the whole in a qualative way.

Name: Superweib & Geheimnisträger. Size: 57X77 cm. Aquarell on paper.

I liked doing this painting. I wanted to do something in yellow and or orange colors. This is the portrait of a singer out of the 80's. The backdrop given here are the common gray block walls which are known in north America. Separating normal everyday life from the free spirited life of this artists expressed through the bright colors contrasting the tarnished gray. The soft graphical gray framing stands for the straight forward honest texts in his songs. The plaid greenish blue stand for solid continuity rounded off with a simple black silver frame. A hint, who is Udo.

Name: Hey Udo. Size: 57X77 cm. Aquarell on paper.

With this next painting I added a few more graphics to the yellow green frame to under pin the feminist feeling I want to emphasize here. The soft beige ellipse comm the observer some what and the two shaded yellow ellipse help focus your eyes onto the lying woman.

Name: Feminine Sentiment. Size: 82X64 cm. Aquarell on paper.

Image VI + VII.

Here I worked out two photos with Burning Scenes. First thing was to highlight the fire men silhouettes and the background fire by pointing red arrows inwards. The green circular pictographs represent the lush forest. The commer cream colors indicate that the men are not in immediate danger.

Screen Shot Images.

Supper imposing the two images adds again to the disturbing visual forest and grassland fire. The impressive surging flames are beautiful in their own sense and jet we know how destructive they can be. The strong gray outer frame tries to balance the inner feelings and confines the whole.

I hope you could take away a little bit of the creative process when bringing together real paintings or photographs and the manipulation of feelings and moods with simple computer graphics. Comparing the two shows a definite difference of the stiles.
