Still Light - New Painting

This is a small step away from my normal tongue-in-cheek, and otherwise body of strangeness subject matter. I've been really working my easel hard these past weeks, since the trip, mind exploding with ideas. This one is mostly inspired by beauty, and exploration of colour (instead of any deeper meant social commentary) and partly inspired by some nostalgia I'm feeling about my highschool days. One of our units was on a still life, so here it is in the form of my recent mosaic series. I'm busy remembering the first time I really fell in love with art.

It was a tool I could always use to be close to the art teacher, who I quite openly fancied. My interest, sadly, went unrequited. He was 40. I was annoying. Star-crossed.
