Seeing Work Again After a While.
When I went to pick up one of the pieces that was destined for New Brunswick, I also brought home a bunch of work that was in storage for quite some time. I mentioned a different piece, which I will share soon, but this piece also came home.
It's a very similar, though much smaller version of the landscape that also went to New Brunswick. It's of the cliffside by the singing sands of PEI, but with a jellyfish playing the harmonica.
I nearly forgot about this little guy. I'm glad he's home. Just a wee little 8x10 thing, but I do really love this one.
In some small ways, I see my paintings as static versions of myself. I work on them, and they reflect me at different times, in different lights. Some of them I stay proud of for a very long time, some of them I look at, and all I see is more work to be done. I think a lot of people have this mentality towards something or other. I'm glad I'm not obsessed with my figure. I think those people suffer a lot.
