Flower Ball. My drawing with colored pencils. Step-by-step.

Today I continue the series of my drawings with colored pencils on kraft paper.
This time I selected a rather unusual flower as an object for drawing. This is a beautiful chorizia tree flower (Chorisia spesiosa).

The tree itself is also very interesting. Its barrel is bottle-shaped, slightly inflated to the base, and completely covered with spines. The flowers of this tree do not have a smell, but fruits produce mats of cotton wool during maturing.

A step-by-step process
I start, as always, with a pencil sketch ..

I draw two flowers, which intertwined with petals. It was quite difficult to understand all the twists and turns of these petals, but it's interesting!

I begin by defining the lightest parts on flowers:

And then I add the background. The picture is supposed to be mottled, so it's important not to peremtemnit-pereestrit, so that the flower is not lost on the background.

I surround the flowers with a background from all sides:

Gradually turn to drawing color details.

I add color to the second flower. It will be pink, so that one flower is different from the other. The yellow flowers of this tree are blossoming, and as they bloom, their petals are lengthened and change their color to pink.

I add details. Shadows in the petals and branches on which grows and which surround this flower:

I draw the middle of the flowers, I add characteristic strokes on the petals.

That's all, the drawing is ready!
