The Eiffel Tower (Daily Drawing Challenge Day 9: City)
I give you my pencil sketch of the Eiffel tower in all of its symmetrical glory, which makes it very technical to draw I must admit.
I decided to draw this architectural landmark of Paris, France today's entry for the daily drawing challenge I'm currently participating in. Today's topic is City.
Here are some of my steps before arriving at this final drawing.
Started with the sketch using a 2B graphite pencil which I used for almost the whole drawing. I only did the outlines and left out the details to start
Then I started bringing out the darker shadows to begin to express the dynamic range, while bringing out the tinier details also simultaneously
Shading and shading going darker and bringing out more tiny details...
Here I started blocking in the shadows on the well trimmed trees at the base of the tower...
